Canada has now announced it’s own legislation project to protect citizens from Spam. The Electronic Commerce Protection Act, or Bill C-27 has been announced with possible penalties of up to $10 million for spammers. A few months after the launch of the National Do Not Call List to regulate the telemarketing industry, this recent proposed Anti-Spam legislation will attempt to do something similar for the world of Canadian email marketing.
